NCR's New Fair Housing Program

by

Northside Community Resources (NCR), a 65+ year old nonprofit community service agency located in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, receives $325,000 Grant from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement a new Fair Housing program on the North side of Chicago. The new Fair Housing program will compliment NCR’s other housing services, many of which the agency has been operating for over twenty years. One current housing program is called TACOM, which provides technical assistance to the community on rental housing issues, assisting tenants with rental issues, helping individuals find housing, and even training (new) landlords on rental housing laws and practices. In preparing for the initial starting phase of the new fair housing program, NCR’s Fair Housing staff have been conducting outreach activities for the last few months, throughout several Chicago North side neighborhoods, including Rogers Park, Edgewater, West Ridge, Uptown, Albany Park, North Park and surrounding suburbs of Lincolnwood, Evanston and Skokie to connect with community stakeholders, who could help spread the word about the new program.
